As if we didn’t need more reasons to visit Metsi’s in the Short North, they’ve just launched a new spring and summer drink menu that features five takes on the Aperol spritz!

Available all summer long, the menu gives you five different approaches to the beverage, from the more classic Sogno that’s augmented with grapefruit, to the spicy and margarita-adjacent Watermelon Fresno, to the shot-and-a-beer Spaghet.

    Here they are in order:

    • Sogno
    • Hugo
    • Strawberry Basil
    • Watermelon Fresno
    • Spaghet

The Sogno is great if you prefer a more classic style of the spritz. The Hugo is clean and refreshing; I enjoyed the chartreuse and the St. Germain. The Strawberry Basil is ideal for someone with a sweeter preference, while the Watermelon Fresno is for those who like a little heat. And the Spaghet is the sleeper hit; I really dug the Aperol/Miller High Life combo!

It’s a pretty gorgeous lineup of drinks, perfect for warm weather sipping while tasting your way through Metsi’s modern Italian menu.

Speaking of their menu… if you’re sipping spritzes, you may as well treat yourself to a few of their hits, starting with the sourdough focaccia and whipped ricotta.

A new favorite of ours is the wood-fired artichoke, grilled to perfection and served with a garlic aioli, roasted pepper, and lemon.

If you’re a fan of Caesar salads, don’t miss out on Metsi’s version, especially with anchovies.

We’ve tasted most of Metsi’s pastas over our visits (the radiatori is still a favorite), and this time we tried the linguine al mare, loaded with poached lobster, mussels, and a clam soffrito.

The cottage fries are surprisingly dynamic: crispy slices of russet potatoes served with a marinated mozzarella curd, dill, and pickled shallots.

Whatever you do, DO NOT skip their tiramisu. It’s one of our favorite versions ever, and it made our list of Favorite Bites of 2025. We were stuffed but we still ordered a slice to go.

Metsi’s spritzes will be available all summer long! And, just a hint: a visit there can be paired with drinks and live music at their partner restaurant Ginger Rabbit Jazz Lounge nearby!

    Metsi’s is open Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4-9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday, 4-10 p.m. Happy hour is 4-6 p.m.
