We enjoyed a lovely stay at The Inn at Honey Run last year, experiencing one of their guest rooms, the grounds, and their in-house restaurant, Tarragon. And now we’re back at the Honeycombs, newly renovated accommodations set in the side of a hill and surrounded by wildflowers!

The Honeycombs have been part of the property for a number of years, but they were recently renovated. While they look rustic from the outside, they’re nice and modern inside!

Right away the entryway and hallways give off a modern vibe, with carpeted stairways, chandeliers, and other touches.

The Honeycomb guest rooms are a single room with a king bed, couch, fireplace, and TV.

And each one has its own secluded patio with views of the wildflower gardens, hills, and sheep pasture beyond.

It really is a lovely spot that feels very private!

If you book a club-level stay, you’re treated to complimentary snacks and drinks in The Lounge at Tarragon, their in-house restaurant. You can enjoy house cocktails, beers, wines, and a small menu of snacks. It’s great for relaxing in the lounge or on one of their patios – which are the perfect opportunity for a little birdwatching.

One of the highlights of staying at The Inn is their house restaurant, Tarragon. Chef Bret Andreasen crafts an Alpine-inspired menu that explores dishes from France, Italy, and Germany. Paired with friendly service and good drinks, it’s a fun complement to an overnight there.

The restaurant is open to the public, too, so if you’re staying elsewhere in Amish Country, you can still book reservations!

Here are a few highlights of our most recent meal, starting with fresh bread, jam, and butter.

The menu rotates over time, but we were glad to see the littleneck clams still featured!

One of our favorite bites this time was the smoked salmon, served with fried fontina and crispy potato rösti.

From the mains we loved the mushroom spätzle, serving with a mix of sauteed mushrooms and house-made spätzle. Just a rich, savory dish!

Props to the steak frites as well!

In between meals, you can relax in your room or explore the expansive grounds. The Inn features several different trails of varying lengths and difficulties, including one that takes you around their open air art museum with sculptures, murals, and other installations.

And you can stop by the sheep pasture to feed the sheep!

Breakfast at Tarragon is a treat as well.

Chef and his team whip up some fun breakfasts, like an expert Belgian waffle.

In keeping with the Alpine theme, I ordered the currywurst served with fries.

The Honeycombs at The Inn at Honey Run are another delightful getaway in Ohio, less than two hours drive from Columbus. And if you’re in the area, you can explore more of Amish country.

In addition to dining at Tarragon, we always recommend Boyd & Wurthmann Restaurant in Berlin for their comfort food and amazing pies!
