Barcelona is getting ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary, and what better to celebrate than with happy hour at the bar?

Barcelona’s happy hour runs at the bar from Tuesdays through Saturdays, 4-6 p.m. You can snag seats at the bar itself or at one of the two-tops surrounding it.

The menu features a variety of $8 snacks and drinks.

We started with a white sangria and an Old Fashioned.

For those who love olives (like my wife!), be sure to order the Aceitunas, a Spanish olive mix in a red wine brine with rosemary.

My favorite of the plates was the Jamón y Queso, a small platter of Tamón Serrano, manchego, with cubes of quince paste and crostinis. We ordered a second!

The Marcona almonds with sea salt make for nice snacking, too!

I also loved Camarones al Ajillo was another favorite, with bites of garlic shrimp tossed with basque peppers and chile in olive oil.

Quick pause for a dirty martini!

I also loved the patatas bravas, fried potatoes with roasted garlic aioli, salsa brava, hot paprika. It’s a big, savory bite!

Kudos to the Filete de Hierro Plano as well! It’s a four-ounce flat iron steak with paprika adobo, a delightful smoked chimichurri, pomme fritte, and blistered tomatoes.

And while happy hour is just around the bar, it could be a precursor to dinner on the patio – just sayin’!

Congrats on 30 years to Scott and the whole Barcelona team!
