There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest news:
- Budd Dairy Food Hall announced a couple changes to their lineup this week. First, the Hawaiian poke bowl spot Pokebap announced that they are closing after this Sunday, June 15. Pokebap is one of the original vendors for the food hall. (Their Dublin store remains open.) Second is the announcement that Elevated Pizza Kitchen will replace Borgata Pizza Cafe, which closed earlier this spring. Elevated Pizza Kitchen, which is connected to the Elevated Wood-Fired Pizza truck, will open on June 17.
- Last weekend Dirty Frank’s Hot Dogs opened their newest location, this one inside Ace of Cups bar. The new hot dog shop replaces Ray Ray’s Hog Pit, which just moved its long-standing truck up to the former Wizard of Za storefront further north in Clintonville.
- The owners of Bristol Republic and District West announced that they are teaming up to open an LGBTQIA-friendly bar and restaurant called Black Sheep Kitchen & Spirits in the former Bristol Republic space, at 1124 N. High St. in the Short North. Bristol Republic is temporarily closed while it moves to Dublin’s Bridge Park.
- The owners of Martha’s Fusion Kitchen have opened No Way Jose!, a sports tavern, at 1816 Parsons Ave.
- 3 Brothers Diner in Grove City announced on social media that they’ll be opening a second location. The exact address has yet to be announced.
- Tikki Masala Indian Bar & Grill is now open at 3108 Kingsdale Center in Upper Arlington.
- The Hickory House announced that it has closed its Gahanna location at 550 Officenter Pl. A reason for the closure wasn’t given, but their original Reynoldsburg location, which first opened in 1979 at 7051 E. Main St., remains open.
- The owners of Macho Taco food truck teased a new venture coming soon, called Smash Daddy’s Chicken and Burgers.
- Next week Wednesday, June 18 is National Sushi Day. To celebrate, Ujelei Sushi at in the Polaris Fashion Place food court will be giving away free sushi from noon to 7 p.m. Fusian is running a $15 special all week, June 16-20, that coincides with their 15th anniversary. On National Sushi Day itself, they’ll have special merch for the first 50 guests in the door at each of their stores.
- Columbus Food Adventures’ next Taste Of dinner is coming up on June 25. The theme this month is Taste of the Balkans!
