There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest news:
- Two bits of news related to Ray Ray’s Hog Pit this week! First is the announcement that their long-time truck at Ace of Cups (one of their OG locations) will be leaving the bar and moving north into the former Wizard of Za shop at 4214 N. High St. The bygone pizza shop is part of the same building as Fusian. The new location is set to open on June 3.
- The second bit of Ray Ray’s news is that they’ve opened a full-service restaurant in downtown Marion, Ohio. You can find the new eatery at 138 S. Main St.
- Astra Rooftop Restaurant is coming this July to the top level of the AC Hotel on Park Street, across from the North Market. It replaces the Lumin SkyBar, and will be operated by One Hospitality group in Columbus.
- The Ravello’s Coffee cart announced that, after a series of pop-ups, they’ll be opening inside The Daily Bar as a full coffee shop in June. The Daily Bar is located at 883 N. Fourth St. in Italian Village.
- A new coffee shop and bar concept called Cure Coffee & Cocktails is coming soon to 154 N. Third St. downtown.
- A new coffee shop and bakery called Restoration Roastery is coming soon to 66 E. Broad St. downtown, in the former Broad Street Bagel & Deli location. Restoration Roastery’s first location is in the lobby of Zion Fellowship Church in Powell. Their website says they’re targeting a spring opening for the downtown shop.
- 1126 Restaurant in the Short North announced that it’s last day in business will be Sunday, May 18. The Japanese restaurant is located at 1126 N. High St. and has been open since 2018.
- Johnson’s Real Ice Cream opens its newest store next week Thursday, May 22. Johnson’s has been on a roll opening new locations over the past year, and this time they’re coming to 192 Hill Road North in Pickerington. They’ll be offering free scoops that night from 6-9 p.m.
- The South Korean bakery chain Tous Les Jours opened its second central Ohio this week, at 7404 OH 161 in Plain City. The pastry shop opened its first Columbus-area location in late 2024 on Olentangy River Road.
- Dulce Vida Ice Cream Factory has opened its newest store at 2561 S. Hamilton Rd. This is the fifth location overall for the Mexican ice cream and paleta shop.
- Columbus Food Adventures is hosting a Taste of Algeria on May 28. The event takes place at the Riverview International Center, and is a fundraiser for the center.
