I can’t believe it’s taken us this long to try Preston Eatery! We’ve been driving by their Bethel Road storefront for years, and have even had the occasional catered work lunch from there, but we’ve never had a proper visit until now.
Preston Eatery is a family-owned spot that mainly features grab-and-go meals. It’s run by mother and daughter team Sue and Amber Preston. They opened the cafe in 2021 after more than two decades operating exclusively as a caterer, and judging by the regular line of guests picking up meals and the large team busy in the kitchen, the grab-and-go business has been thriving.

Preston’s menu varies each week, so you can keep an eye on their Facebook page for what’s featured that week, but given the overall quality of what we tried, you can just show up and know you’ll find something to love.

The meals range from everything like breakfast burritos to pastas, turkey or pot roast dinners, salads, Korean beef with rice, ground turkey eggrolls, you name it.

This is on top of sides, soups, and desserts.

Everything is pre-cooked, packaged nicely, and ready to go. You can just walk in, browse the coolers, grab a meal or two, and you’re set. Most meals are for one person, but several are portioned for two.

Preston does have a small cafe with a menu of made-to-order salads, sandwiches, soups. You can enjoy these in the cafe – there are four two-top tables – or you can take them to-go as well.

In addition to taking some meals home, we had lunch in the cafe. Their Mediterranean salad is a substantial offering with romaine, tomato, cucumber, red onion, radish, fresh parsley, green onion, Kalamata olives, a lemon mint vinaigrette, plus a scoop of hummus and crispy za’atar pita chips.

And the B.L.Turkey sandwich! We quickly fell in love with it. It layers a house-roasted turkey breast, candied bacon, havarti cheese, lettuce, and boursin mayo on toasted focaccia. Such a great combination of flavors.

And it’s hard to beat a crisp s’mores cookie.

We took a trio of meals and desserts home, too, to get the full Preston Eatery experience. All of them turned out to be winners.

The features that week include a steak fajitas rice bowl.

Plus a good old fashioned pot roast with mashed potatoes, gravy, and carrots.

We snagged a side of their homemade chicken salad.

And a breakfast burrito with house-made salsa.

It was loaded with eggs, sausage, and hash browns.

They also feature a full range of desserts, including giant slices of carrot cake. Seriously, this felt like it weighted two pounds.

And a really delightful blueberry cobbler. It’s rich and buttery, and brought back memories of a blueberry dessert my grandmother used to make.
We’re so glad to have finally tried Preston Eatery! The service was wonderfully friendly, the meals all expertly prepared. It’s a great resource if you need a quick lunch or dinner, or need an easy option to deliver a meal to someone. I love that the meals rotate each week, so while there are favorites that return regularly, you’ll always find something new to discover.
Preston Eatery is open Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
