The coffee shop space on North Cassady Avenue in Bexley has always had a special charm, tucked into a small strip on the north end of Bexley, close to the train tracks, a cozy little corner for coffee and baked goods. The long-time Bexley Coffee Shop was open for nearly a decade before the owners attempted to sell it and then closed it down, but fortunately a new owner has revamped the space and renamed it Bexley Coffee Co.!

Whereas the old coffee shop leaned on the 90s, second wave coffee vibe, this shop features cleaner lines, more lighting, and walls and tile decorated in creams and light greens. More wall decor is on the way, they said, which will offer some nice details to the space.

The menu is nicely focused, featuring drip coffee, pour overs, cold brew, and espresso drinks, plus matcha, tea, and baked goods. They use One Line Coffee and Thunderkiss Coffee beans, and bonus points for using their own house syrups!

We made a quick stop this time around, enjoying a pumpkin croissant that was served warm. It offered a lovely touch of fall, with a not-too-sweet filling.

I judge coffee shops based on their cortados, and Bexley Coffee Co.’s version was well done, if just a touch too milky.

The real standout was The Lioness, a house specialty with espresso, spiced honey, vanilla, milk, and a touch of cinnamon.

Bexley Coffee Co. is currently open Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Their website says Saturday hours are coming soon.
