This Strawberry Mango Smoothie tastes like summer in a glass! It’s a delicious smoothie combination that will make you feel like you’re on vacation.

You’ll love this strawberry mango smoothie recipe if you’re not a big fan of bananas in smoothies. It has a creamy frozen texture without a banana flavor. Serve it as an after-school snack or a refreshing summer drink.

It tastes better than anything you’d buy at a smoothie shop and would also make an excellent base for a smoothie bowl.

    Strawberry Mango Smoothie Ingredients

The key to this smoothie’s texture is using a combination of fresh and frozen fruit. Since fresh strawberries are easier to prep than fresh mango, this recipe calls for fresh strawberries and frozen mango chunks. But feel free to swap these if you prefer! (There are also tips below if you only have frozen fruit to work with.)

Very little liquid is required for blending when you use fresh fruit, but the orange juice adds an extra punch of tropical flavor. I use almond milk in this recipe for dairy-free creaminess but feel free to swap it for your milk of choice.

Add Greek yogurt, chia seeds, or unflavored protein powder to make it more filling if you need to. This smoothie recipe is easy to customize!

How to Make a Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Combine the fresh strawberries, frozen mango, orange juice, and almond milk in a high-speed blender. Secure the lid and blend until smooth, about 60 seconds.

Taste the smoothie and make any adjustments. You can add Greek yogurt, a spoonful of almond butter, or protein powder to help keep you feeling satisfied longer.

Add a handful of ice cubes and blend again for a slushier texture until it reaches the consistency you like. Adding ice will dilute the flavor slightly, so start with a few cubes and taste as you go.

Serve the smoothie right away for the best flavor and texture. Leftovers can be poured into an ice pop mold for an easy treat you can store in the freezer.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different liquid?

Yes, of course! This recipe would pair well with pineapple juice instead of orange juice. You can also use water or coconut water instead of almond milk.

Can I make this smoothie with frozen fruit?

Yes, if you have frozen strawberries and frozen mango to use, use 1/2 cup of each in this recipe. You’ll also need to increase the liquid, starting with a 1/2 cup of orange juice and a 1/2 cup of almond milk. You may need to add a little more liquid as you blend, just 1 tablespoon at a time, until it’s smooth. Because frozen fruit isn’t always as flavorful, you may want to add a little sweetness, like half of a date, or a touch of maple syrup or honey.

Can I make this recipe nut-free?

Yes, you can use any other non-dairy milk, like oat milk, coconut milk, or hemp milk, for a vegan smoothie or regular milk.

    • If you prefer a slushier consistency, add some ice and blend again. Then it’s ready to serve immediately for the best taste and texture.

Nutrition information is for the whole batch. This information is automatically calculated, and is just an estimate not a guarantee.
Prefer to use only frozen fruit? For a single serving, combine a 1/2 cup frozen mango, a 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, a 1/2 cup orange juice, and a 1/2 cup almond milk. Blend until smooth, adding 1 more tablespoon of liquid if needed to keep the blender going.
Update Note: This recipe was updated in July 2023 for more consistent results and better flavor. The original called for 1 cup each of frozen mango & frozen strawberries, 1 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 frozen banana, and a 1/4 avocado, if you prefer that version.
