There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

    • Mission Coffee announced last week that it will be closing its coffee shop inside The Fort on the South Side. The shop opened two years ago and is attached to its roastery. Mission’s Short North coffee shop, which reopened last August, remains open.
    • The Moroccan bakery and brunch cafe Maison Skalli opened a second location this week at 3708 Fishinger Blvd. in Hilliard. It joins a location that opened in Dublin in the spring of 2024.
    • The Mochi Shop opens its combined storefront with Coffee Coin this Sunday, March 23. The new shop is located at 999 Bethel Rd. Suite D. They’ll be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day. The first 50 customers will get a free mochi!
    • Moralus Steelton Market is now open on the South Side at 1776 S. High St.
    • Marx Bagels out of Cincinnati is taking over the old Block’s Bagels spaced at 6115 McNaughten Rd. The Block’s cafe – the last of its locations – closed last month following the death of its founder Hal Block. Marx Bagels has been serving the Cincinnati area since 1969.
    • Hot Chicken Takeover announced that it has closed another of its locations, this one at 4198 Worth Ave. in the Easton Gateway. The hot chicken shop closed its Powell location a couple months back.
    • Multiple sources have reported that the Light Meeting House Coffee Bar & Cafe is coming to 1485 Oak St. in Franklin Park, in the former old Addella’s on Oak space. Addella’s closed earlier this year.
    • Libby Lou’s Fun Factory is now open at Bubbly Hall in New Albany.
    • Rose Dough Donuts will again hold a pop-up shop at the site of its future storefront – 3375 N. high St. – this Saturday, March 22, starting at 10 a.m. Get there early – they’ll sell out!
