There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

    • A new bakery called KKP Bakery opened up this week at 3621 Southwest Blvd. in Grove City. Operated by a Kris Kuskowski, a long-time baker from Resch’s Bakery, KKP features donuts, muffins, cupcakes, and other baked goods. The bakery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Holy Crepes has opened its market stall in North Market Downtown. The sweet and savory crepe stand already has a location at the Bridge Park North Market.
    • The first central Ohio location of the Parlor Doughnuts chain opens this Saturday, Feb. 8 at 4290 Home Rd. in Powell. Parlor was first started in Evansville, Indiana in 2019, and has grown to dozens of locations around the country. A second area location is also on the way to Evans Farm in Lewis Center.
    • Mastro’s Steakhouse celebrates its grand opening today, Friday, Feb. 7 at 3965 New Bond St. at Easton, in the former McCormick & Schmick’s location.
    • Noble Cut Distillery announced that it has taken over its next door space (formerly Heart State Brewing/Homestead Beer Co.) and created Noble Cut Cocktails & Pints. It’s located at 750 Cross Pointe Rd. in Gahanna, and will do special hours this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-8, before picking up regular hours of noon to 10 p.m., Wednesday-Saturday.
    • Bibibop Asian Grill has started a weekly pop-up in the Hexion building downtown (180 E. Broad St.) on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • A new pop-up called Jinjja has kicked off on Mondays at Harvest Pizzeria in Clintonville. Jinjja features modern and traditional dishes from South Korea, and will be available for carryout from noon to 4 p.m., then dine-in from 4-8 p.m.
    • Land-Grant Brewing and Buck City Sammies are teaming up, with Buck City appearing at the brewery on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
    • Chef Garrett Talmadge is bringing Mezcla, a modern Mexican restaurant and cocktail lounge to 1022 Summit St. in Italian Village this spring. The corner space is the former home of The Market Italian Village.
    • Global Gallery announced that it is expanding to a second location near Ohio State’s campus. They’re running a fundraiser to help build out the space.
    • Goodfella’s Pizzeria announced they’ll be opening a location at 608 N. High St. in the Short North.
    • Blue Turtle Tea & Spice Co. in Uptown Westerville has moved to a new location at 13 E. College Ave., and will re-open on Saturday, Feb. 8.
    • 101 Beer Kitchen announced that it has undergone a name change and is now 101 Craft Kitchen. The menus, decor, and other details remain the same.

    Some upcoming events:

    • Mikey’s Late Night Slice brings back its Hot Mikey’s pizza starting on Monday, Feb. 10, but you can get a preview of it at their Unplugged 2025 Pizza Buffet Kickoff Party this Saturday, Feb. 8 at their new campus location (read more on that here). The Hot Mikey’s pizza will be available at all stores through Feb. 23.
    • How about some cocktails for a good cause? On Sunday, March 2, the Columbus Craft Cocktail Tour hosts the Not Really a Bartender amateur cocktail competition. It’s hosted at Denmark on High, and proceeds from it benefit Service Relief Kitchen.
